Nigeria To Extend Anti-corruption Strategy To 2026

The federal government’s Inter-Agency Task Team (IATT) says the National Anti-Corruption Strategy
2017-2021 will soon be extended for another five years.

This was disclosed by a member of IATT, Dr Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, at the commemoration of the
International Anti-corruption Day in Abuja on Friday.

According to Dr Orji, the Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industry Transparency Initiative (NEITI),
the first cycle of the strategy ended in July 2021.

He also said a report would be presented to the Federal Executive Council (FEC) for an extension next year.
“It is expected that a new action plan would be developed to guide implementation of the strategy,” he said.
